West Midlands children's and wellbeing event

West Midlands Councils, the Department of Health and Improvement and Efficiency West Midlands are running an event on improving children’s health and wellbeing in the West Midlands.

The event is aimed at directors of children’s services, directors of adult services, directors of public health, senior commissioners and service providers and will look at how to integrate public health services and personnel into local government, so as to improve children’s health and wellbeing.

The one-day event tales place in Birmingham on 4 December 2012.

Karen Turner, Deputy Director, Delivery Programmes Children Families and Maternity – Department of Health, will set the national context and Mark Rogers, Chief Executive Solihull and Children’s Improvement Lead for SOLACE will chair the event.

The event will cover the following:

  • joint strategic needs assessments health and wellbeing strategies
  • governance
  • commissioning and delivery
  • improvement and assurance
