Child accident prevention master class
We are delighted to invite you to the latest in this series of events – a master class on public health commissioning and child accident prevention for the under 5s.
The event will focus on the implications of the proposed split in responsibility for commissioning children’s public health services, set out in The White Paper - Healthy Lives, Healthy People: Our strategy for public health in England.
The White Paper proposed a vision for a reformed public health system in England which, in the short term, will separate commissioning of services from pregnancy to 5, and from 5 to 19.
Many stakeholders have expressed concern about the potential for fragmentation in the arrangements for commissioning of children’s public health. Taking accident prevention for under 5s as a theme, the event will discuss the implications of the proposals for commissioners, practitioners and for children and families.
Our invited panel of experts includes public health commissioners and representatives from the Public Health Development Unit at the Department of Health who will explain the Department's thinking and plans.
The target audience is:
- Commissioners of services for children in the health sector and local authorities.
- Senior professionals within VCS organisations with an interest in responding to invitations to tender to provide services to statutory organisations, including accident prevention.
- Practitioners involved in all aspects of accident prevention, including early intervention, home safety, road safety, housing, public health, etc.
Location of event
The master class will take place on 11 July 2012 at 1.30pm-4pm at:
ORT House
126 Albert Street
London NW1 7NE
We request a small contribution towards the cost of this event and thanks to financial support from the Department for Education, via Safe Network, we are able to offer the opportunity to participate for a discounted rate of just £48 (£40 + VAT) per delegate.
