Family Nurse Partnership reduces injuries and costs

New evaluation shows that The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) programme of intensive and structured home visiting support is making a difference to many vulnerable first time mothers and their children across 50 sites.

Evaluation reports published by the Department of Health (DH) include a number of issues emerging from the first ten pilot sites.

Previous evaluations have shown significant reductions in the incidence of injuries and hospital admissions, and the latest study includes this specific contribution to the effective delivery of the Family Nurse Partnership.
