Crossing Over road safety resource

CAPT has produced the Crossing Over briefing resource to support road safety professionals, and all those who work with them, in their efforts to reduce the numbers of children and young people who are killed and injured on our roads.

The quick reference briefing helps road safety professionals to identify and develop connections with public health teams and local organisations such as health and wellbeing boards. It provides clear and simple signposting to support road safety professionals in areas such as:

  • making the case for joined-up action
  • understanding the links with public health
  • exploring the links between childhood accidents and inequalities
  • finding local data on road accidents
  • engaging local stakeholders
  • planning road safety communication and outreach
  • making the most of education, training and publicity.
